Our Purpose

Our Purpose

When we enter into a relationship with God by His grace through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ, we enter into a two-fold covenant. First, we covenant to follow Jesus as Lord for the rest of our lives, loving Him with all our hearts, souls, minds, & strength. Secondly, we covenant to live out the mission of God with other Christ-followers in the context of the local church family.

Covenants of the Church Leadership

Covenants of the Church Leadership

1. We commit to assisting you in taking your place in the family of God, becoming a missionary follower of Christ, a disciple (Heb. 13:17; I Thes. 5:12).

2. We covenant to provide teaching, preaching and counsel from the Scriptures (Gal. 6:6; I Tim. 5:17-18).

3. We covenant that your elders and deacons will meet the criteria assigned to them in the Scriptures (I Tim. 3:1-13 & 5:17-22, Titus 1:5-9, I Pt. 5:1-4).

4. We commit to helping you in times of need (Acts 2:42-47, 4:32-35, Jm. 2:14-17).

5. We covenant to pray for you regularly, particularly when you are sick (Jm. 5:14).

6. We covenant to be on guard against false teachers (Acts 20:28-31).

7. We covenant to exercise church discipline when necessary (Matt. 18:15-20; I Cor. 5; Gal. 6:1).

8. We covenant to help you become equipped to serve Christ (Eph. 4:11-13).

9. We covenant to seek God's will for our church family to the best of our ability as we study the Scriptures and follow the Spirit (Acts 20:28, I Peter 5:1-5).

10. We covenant to set an example and join you in fulfilling the duties of disciples and church partners (1 Cor11:1, Philip. 3:17, I Tim. 4:12).

This covenant does not imply that one will never fall short of the goals at times. It indicates our sincere desire to fulfill each of the responsibilities stated here and our commitment to make every effort to do so. It signifies that we are willing to be accountable as partners and to hold others accountable as well. We trust that our commitment will be a personal blessing in each of our journeys with Christ and a blessing to others around us.

Living A Gospel-Transformed Disciple

The Gospel transforms us (2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 2:20, Philippians 2:12-13), giving us a new identity and a new purpose in Christ. It is the Gospel that makes us who we are. Because the Gospel transforms us, every disciple has been called to live as Family, Followers, and Missionaries:
